Walking with people to become followers of Christ through relationship, example and proclamation of the truth and reality of God

Bible in Schools

Our parish fully supports the teaching of Religious Education in our local primary schools.

Also known as "Bible in Schools" we use the Churches Education Commission sylabus approved by the Ministry of Education.

Our parish has teachers in the three local primary schools working alongside volunteers from the other local churches.

The Boards of Trustees and teachers remain supportive of our input into the spiritual side of their students.

In recent times our teachers have been asked to assist with classes dealing with tragedies in their midst, such is the quality of our participation and the trust we have developed.

Bible in Schools

Giving our children a moral compass

We are desperately in need of Christian helpers and teachers for Bible in Schools in Bream Bay primary schools.

For many children, the only contact they have with the Christian Gospel message is the half hour a week they have in their classroom with a Bible in Schools teacher.

The Churches Education Commission (CEC) is the national organisation responsible to our member churches for co-ordination of Christian Religious Education programmes in New Zealand (sometimes called Bible in Schools).

You can become a volunteer and make a difference to the next generation!

All the resources are provided:
teacher's work book
individual books for the children
music on CDs
stories on DVD, or
you can be creative and develop your own material.

All we ask is your time - 30 minutes a week during the school year!
You can start by helping a teacher in the class and later take your own class if you wish.

Please help us bring the Word to the next generation
